Exclusive: Details Behind The Rock's Notes On His Wrist

WWE Video Rocker has learned that John Cena referencing The Rock having notes on his
wrist, which were visible on RAW, was not a planned part of the show.

There was much speculation that it was scripted for Cena to call out The Rock's notes, but

that appears to be incorrect. The Rock legitimately had the notes to refer to if needed for his lengthy live promo. It is something The Rock has done for years.
I spoke to a source close to the situation who reminded me of last year when John Cena responded to one of the taped promos The Rock did where Cena made mention of being able to the see the teleprompter The Rock was reading off of in the reflection.

It seems that the improvised comments revealing some of the tricks The Rock uses to perform his promos is one of the best public examples of the genuine animosity between The Rock and John Cena. The source says there are other comments they make on-air about one another that are “just as surprising” as Cena making mention of the notes, the difference being the notes on the wrist comment is unusual for fans to hear in a wrestling promo.

In addition to this knowledge, WWE's official YouTube account does not have any video of that segment on RAW posted anymore. This is surprising because they typically post most segments of each episode of RAW. This was the big promoted return of The Rock to RAW and the first time the two had been face to face since Survivor Series so you would think that would be a video archived on WWE's YouTube. In addition, WWE has all of the other segments recently or from earlier in 2011 that the two appeared in together.

There are other videos of that segment on RAW uploaded by people not affiliated with WWE. These copies of the show are taken from different television feeds around the world and posted without the authorization of WWE. There are several videos that are uploaded courtesy of certain international television networks where it appears the notes on The Rock's wrist are blocked out via a block that is the matching color of The Rock's arm. WWE RAW does air or repeat at a later time in some markets around the world which seems to indicate they edited the segment for airing after it happen live.

This seems to be another example and story furthering the many reports about the true dislike and competitiveness The Rock and John Cena seem to have for one another.

WWE Tour To Abu Dhabi Results

WWE Raw house show results
February 10, 2012
Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.
Report by Mohammed Al Housani.

The following are results from Day 2 of 3 of the WWE Raw World Tour in Abu Dhabi.

Just like the first day of the tour, Justin Roberts introduced the Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and Interim Raw GM, John Laurinaitis, to a chorus of boos. He welcomed the fans to the event and said it was an honor to be here in the United Arab Emirates. He pitched both main events coming up tonight and promised a surprise for C.M. Punk.

(1) U.S. champion Jack Swagger beat Alex Riley via submission to retain the U.S. Title. Riley was the first wrestler to come out and received an even bigger pop than last night. I don't know if it was because he was the first babyface out, or people genuinely like him here. Jack Swagger was booed and heckled throughout the match. He played to the crowd well and attracted loud boos every time he did it. He won the match after catching Riley with the Anklelock submission. Lots of "Swagger Sucks" and "Riley" chants throughout the match.

(2) Michael McGillicutty beat Drew McIntyre via pinfall. Drew came out first and dissed the crowd, asking if they understood English. He said he had been through a 14-hour flight and barely had any sleep, so he wanted everyone to be quiet while he was talking. Then, he said it doesn't matter anyways because tonight the losing streak ends and he cannot wait to leave this backwards-thinking country (ouch). He promised that he will not lose. Michael McGillicutty came out and you could tell he was amped up and ready to tear it down. Many people probably didn't know it was the anniversary of his father's death, but you could tell based on him using many of his father's signature moves throughout the match, ending with the infamous Fisherman Suplex, or for this occasion, the Perfect Plex. There were many "Let's Go Michael" chants during the match. The crowd also chanted "Loser" to Drew after the match was over.

(3) WWE tag champions Primo & Epico beat Santino & Mason Ryan via pinfall to retain the WWE Tag Titles. Santino was very popular with the crowd, as he is everywhere. This match was almost the same as last night with slightly different comedy spots. Formulaic tag team match. Mason played the big man role and Santino played the face in peril being double-teamed by the tag champions up until the hot tag. Unlike last night, it was Mason Ryan who took the pinfall. A lot of "Santino" and "Let's Go Ryan" chants throughout the match.

Before the next match of The Miz vs. R-Truth, Miz came out to a big pop, but proceeded to turn the crowd on him by telling them to be quiet and listen to how great he really is. He said he was a former two-time U.S. champion, four-time Tag Team champion, two-time Slammy Award winner, and WWE Champion. He said he is a huge star. He said he has accomplishments neither the crowd nor R-Truth have. He also said that he brought R-Truth up to main-event level, but he failed even when riding his coattails to get to the top. This started a "What" chant from the crowd, which Miz replied to with his signature "Really" question. What happened next was a memorable "What" vs. "Really?" duel that you had to witness live to see how great the exchange was. I hope WWE cameras caught it on tape. He then promised to embarrass R-Truth next. Unlike last night, Truth showed up to his old crowd-pleaser entrance, singing "What's Up," which the crowd happily joined in.

(4) R-Truth beat The Miz via pinfall. The match was slow to start with Miz and Truth playing to the crowd in their own way. Truth would scream to one section, "What's Up," and get one back, while Miz went to that same section and wondered, "Really?" This match had the most heat of any match up to this point and was also the best in-ring action to this point. Truth hit the Lie Detector for the pin and the win.

[Intermission]

(5) Chris Jericho beat Kofi Kingston by pinfall. Jericho did the same entrance and trolling he did last night. Kofi made his entrance and attacked Jericho before the bell sounded, selling the post-match Jericho attack he suffered last night. In the middle of the match, Jericho caught Kofi with the Lion Tamer and Kingston reached the ropes to break the hold. Jericho managed to kick out of Trouble in Paradise closer to the end. In the end, Jericho pinned Kofi with the Code Breaker. I wonder if there will be a rubber match tomorrow night.

(6) John Cena beat Kane via pinfall in a No DQ match. Cena received a monstrous pop coming out. Even louder than last night. Unbelievable how popular this guy is for a crowd that has only seen him on TV. Unlike last night, though, the dueling chants of "Let's Go Cena / Cena Sucks" were much louder and prevalent. The match involved chairs, stairs, guardrails, and a microphone, and was all over and around the ring. Cena kicked out of the chokeslam, and Kane broke the STF by reaching the ropes. In the end, Kane brought a chair to the ring and it backfired when Cena kicked it into his face and hit the Attitude Adjustment for the pin and the win.

Post-match, Kane said he wasn't done with him and challenged Cena to a Tables match tomorrow night to wrap up the tour. (Cena and Kane were advertised for a tag match on Day 3.)

Next was the main event WWE Title between C.M. Punk and Dolph Ziggler. Punk got the second loudest pop of the night, after Cena, but I still say he was as popular as Cena based on the number of t-shirts in the crowd. Before the match could begin, John Laurinaitis came out and said that he promised he would surprise C.M. Punk and here he is. He had two surprises. (1) Appointing his Legal Counsel, David Otunga, as the special ring enforcer for the match. (2) He is making this match two-out-of-three falls (since it wasn't mentioned before or during the show live). Punk was really enjoying himself here, playing to the crowd and slowly taking his shirt off to milk the crowd and keep them guessing to which section he would throw it to. When he finally did, he channelled the Rick Rude Dance before throwing his shirt to the crowd.

(7) WWE champion C.M. Punk beat Dolph Ziggler 2-1 in a two-out-of-three falls match to retain the WWE Title. Punk got the first fall rather quickly with a roll-up. Ziggler got the second fall after countering the GTS with a Fameasser. Towards the end of the match, there was a ref bump and Punk caught Ziggler with the Anaconda Vice and he tapped, but there was no ref. Otunga brought in another ref and was talking to him on the live mic and telling him to be fair and call it right down the middle, while the ref had his back to the ring. While Punk was distracted by what was happening outside the ring, Ziggler caught him with the Zig-Zag and Otunga sent the ref to the ring for the count, but Punk kicked out. Otunga was furious at the ref and got into the ring and berated him. Then, he turned his attention to Punk and got in his face, but got a GTS for his troubles. Punk then hit the GTS on Ziggler for the final pin and win.

What happened after the match was very memorable to the people who were still in the stadium. Punk thanked the crowd and said that this crowd is one of the best crowds he has ever wrestled in front of live (which is a big compliment given where he has wrestled in the past) and that tonight and last night were unbelievable. He said he can't wait to do it again tomorrow and promised that WWE will be back in Abu Dhabi again. He then went ringside and was given a turban to wear as tribute to the people of the United Arab Emirates. He actually looked like Sabu wearing it. What a memorable end to the show.

Overall, I thought Day 2 was a better show than Day 1. The crowd was livelier, crazier, and louder than the first day, and the wrestling was top-notch. Even John Cena vs. Kane was a great match. How will they top this on Day 3?

WWE’S STORYLINE UPDATE ON ZACK RYDER – RUSHED TO TRAUMA CENTER

Following the attack from Kane at the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view, WWE posted a storyline update on Zack Ryder. They say that Ryder was rushed to a nearby St. Louis trauma center. WWE’s Dr. Chris Amann said the following:
"The most worrisome aspect of that move [the tombstone piledriver] is a compression force to the cervical spine that does have the potential to fracture several vertebrae and render serious injury.”
"We’ve taken him to the hospital as a precautionary measure, at which point in time we’ll get cervical spine X-rays and most likely a CAT scan to make sure that’s there’s been no significant damage.”

TMZ reports that boxing legend Mike Tyson will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame from Miami, Florida this year during WrestleMania 28 weekend.
Tyson told TMZ, "I am honored to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. I was the youngest heavyweight champion of all time, but the most fun I ever had in the ring was with WWE.”
Tyson hosted RAW last year but his most famous appearance with WWE came back in 1998 when he had a confrontation with Steve Austin on RAW before being the special enforcer for Austin vs. Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania.
Look for Tyson to be officially announced on tonight’s RAW Supershow. He will join Edge, The Four Horsemen and Mil Mascaras in the 2012 Hall of Fame.

Mark Henry Injured !!

After dropping the World Heavyweight title months earlier than expected at WWE’s December TLC due to a groin injury, Henry was injured once again at Tuesday’s WWE SmackDown tapings from Tuscon, AZ.
Mark Henry is believed to have suffered a hyper-extended knee during his match with the Big Show, which will air tonight on SyFy. Henry, who has dealt with knee problems in the past, threw a punch without properly planting his foot.
A reader who watched the Australian broadcast of SmackDown (which airs a day earlier down under) said it was clear that something went very wrong after Henry collapsed "like he had been shot in the thigh” and immediately exited the ring in pain. They immediately cut to commercial and the match eventually ended in a count out.
According to a script of SmackDown that has been circulating online this week, the original plan was for Daniel Bryan to attack Big Show with a chair. Show was supposed to make a comeback, chokeslam Bryan and leave him laid out. The show would then end with Henry delivering a big splash to Bryan, closing scene being Bryan destroyed in the ring.

EXCLUSIVE: NEW CREATIVE DETAILS & MATCHES FOR WRESTLEMANIA 28

After speaking to several sources, WWE VIDEO ROCKER has learned that new talk has surfaced within WWE regarding WrestleMania 28 plans.
Contrary to what has been previously reported, it appears that The Undertaker vs. Chris Jericho and Triple H vs. CM Punk are the two big matches currently being discussed.
WWE is aware that due to online reports, fans have been expecting the tentative plan for Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk at Mania, and while those plans have not been scrapped by any means, officials have discussed a creative shake-up. In addition to the internet motive, there is belief internally that more could have been done in the past between CM Punk and Triple H.
Chris Jericho and The Undertaker also provides a fresh WrestleMania match up compared to a third WrestleMania meeting between Triple H vs. The Undertaker, which as reported, has been on the table for quite some time.
Again, we can't confirm at this time that either of the above matches will take place at WrestleMania 28 but both are being heavily considered. The week of the Royal Rumble is always a big week creatively, and WWE likes to have the major WrestleMania matches in place as much of what happens at the Rumble of course feeds into WrestleMania.
Triple H is scheduled to appear on RAW this Monday conducting the job "evaluation" of John Laurinaitis.
Obviously after the Royal Rumble, plans may and should become clearer. Keep it right here on WWE VIDEO ROCKER as we will continue to follow this develping story.

WWE Makes Another Change to the 2012 Pay Per View Line-Up

According to WWE’s website the 2012 PPV schedule has changed yet again.
Late last year, it was reported that "Bragging Rights” would be returning to fill the slot for June, fitting in between "Over The Limit” in May and "Money In The Bank” in July. The site now shows a graphic for the "Fatal 4-Way” PPV in that slot.
In addition, it seems that they are doing away with the "TLC” pay-per-view that normally fits in around December time as they have replaced that graphic with that of the "Bragging Rights” PPV.
There is still no press release confirming these further changes.

3rd Crypt Video from WWE "Control"

During last night’s Raw, another January 2nd promo aired. This one featured a girl alongside the boy at his desk. The boy says, “What shall be the sign of my coming? The answer? When she tells us. She holds the mystery of my arrival, of my rebirth. For when I beckon her, I will return to claim what is mine and things shall never be the same again. On the second day of 2012 it will be the end of the world as you know it”.
The words ‘Control’ in white lettering then appear.
You can see the promo below;
This is probably the first of the WWE promo videos that seems to divert attention away from The Undertaker. If anything, this sounds like a McMahon family promo, especially with the ‘Control’ aspect and reclaiming what was rightfully his. The two children could certainly refer to Shane and Stephanie McMahon, perhaps this is a promo for their return to claim ownership of the WWE.
Or maybe it is for The Undertaker after all, maybe with Michelle McCool the woman referred to as his new manager. Or Chris Jericho.
Hopefully when the time comes for this person to return on January 2nd that the videos will make sense and the substance of these aren’t forgotten about.

Triple H VS Under Taker WrestleMania 28 Rematch

Dave Meltzer has confirmed on Wrestling Observer Radio that Triple H vs The Undertaker is set as one of the main events at next year’s Wrestlemania, coming April 1st from Miami, Florida. This will be a rematch from last year’s epic encounter at Wrestlemania 27 and mirrors the back-to-back Wrestlemania matches Shawn Michaels had with The Undertaker at Wrestlemania where he tried to break Taker’s streak.
The build up to the match started last night on RAW when Triple H won a Slammy Award in relation to last year’s match. He trash talked The Undertaker, saying that by being the first superstar to injury him and force him out on a stretcher, even though he lost the Wrestlemania match, Hunter effectively ended the Deadman’s streak.
Of course we should not forget that plans change at the WWE on a regular basis but previous reports said that three Wrestlemania main events were set. Only one is officially confirmed; The Rock vs. John Cena but we also expect CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho for the WWE Title and now The Undertaker vs. Triple H.
This would mean the WWE World Heavyweight Title match would likely be fourth from the top.

Miss USA and Tough Enough Contestant Rima Fakih Arrested

Former Miss USA Rima Fakih was arrested in Michigan early Saturday for suspicion of drunken driving ... this according to an attorney for the beauty queen.

Police would not confirm the arrest -- and Fakih even tweeted yesterday she wasn't even in Michigan -- but her attorney, Donald Elder, told the Detroit Free Press, "Unfortunately she was."

Elder told the paper Fakih was "very saddened and very apologetic for the situation that she is in right now."

As for the tweet, Fakih posted around 5:00 PM on Saturday: "Let’s clear things up now.... I’m NOT in Michigan and I’m NOT in jail! Wrong Fakih."

WWE Cryptic Videos : Masked Kane and Possibly Chris Jericho / Undertaker Return?

Two cryptic messages played-out on Monday Night Raw. WWE’s Twitter bar went ‘fuzzy’ for a bit, allowing us to catch glimpses of a YouTube address in between the distortion. The YouTube channel in particular is this http://www.youtube.com/user/itbegins2012. Check out the creepy video below or in the channel itself. The other video was obviously a teaser for the return of the Big Red Machine, Kane! But more importantly, it could signal the return ofKane is his mask! More after the jump:
The video for itbegins2012 clearly states that a familiar face will return to “claim what is his”. This could lead us to believe that Chris Jericho will return on 2 January 2012 to either claim the WWE Championship or his ‘Best In The World’ moniker, both of which currently reside with CM Punk. Could this mean that an epic Jericho / Punk rivalry will come to a peak at WrestleMania 28? It could. Chris Jericho recently stated that he’s never coming back to the WWE, which only leads me to believe that he’ll be back sooner than later. It’s not the first time Jericho has dismissed WWE-return rumors, only to return within a month or two thereafter.
To me, however, the video seems a bit too creepy to be Jericho’s. All the grit, grey, and gloom suggest to me that this marks the first teaser video for The Undertaker’s inevitable return, possibly to take back the World Heavyweight Championship.

It Begins

On Monday’s RAW, when WWE was showing one of the Twitter on-screen graphics, the image got fuzzy and briefly showed a URL to a Youtube channel – “It Begins 2012.”

The URL revealed a cryptic video of a young student talking about something big occurring on Monday, January 2nd, 2012 – when RAW is live from Memphis, TN.

The boy who was narrating the video said:

“Come my people and shut thy doors about thee. For power should come to punish the weak for their inequity. For on the second day of 2012, a familiar force shall arrive to claim what it is his. And it will be the end of the world as you know it.”

The text “It Begins.” then appeared.

Steve Austin Would Work One More Match At WrestleMania

Arda Ocal (@arda_ocal) and Jimmy Korderas (@jimmykorderas) of #AftermathRadio on thescore.com and iTunes talked with WWE Hall Of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin.
In the interview, Austin says that he does have one more match left in him, that he would have liked to face Brock Lesnar but had it been done right years ago in WWE, and he would like to face CM Punk at Wrestlemania 28, though he would have preferred Punk to be a heel, and the money needs to be right.
Read some of the excerpts from the interview below:
On working for projects, his new website, including working with Steven Seagal in a new movie release upcoming soon in the future:
"I am happy to be working with the guy. I have always been a Seagal fan, Ive heard a lot of stories about him. Its kinda right in the middle of my dear season. I'm down here in Texas in the deer stand looking at deer, learning my lines, and getting tuned up in the gym."
Does he feel that there could be one more match inside of him still? Possibily stepping in the ring against CM Punk at a future Wrestlemania:
"If it was the right time, right place could I do it (have one more match)? Yeah. I got a lot of respect for the kid (CM Punk), love the promos he cuts, love his work in the ring. He's a guy that paid his dues, worked his way to top guy status, and I wish him all the best in the world. It's a weird situation right now because he's a babyface and I think he became a babyface too soon, and I would have liked to work him when he was a heel. It comes down to money and what's on the table."
Thoughts on Brock Lesnar. Giving his thoughts on all former talents like Brock Lesnar saying he would like to face Steve Austin if he came back to WWE, and Current superstars calling him out on places like Twitter and other Interviews:
"As far as Brock Lesnar goes, I think he's firmly entrenched in the UFC, and I think yes that was the big match to him that he would have liked to have had in the WWE at that time. Hell, I would have loved to have worked with Brock too, had it been done right."
